Verification of the Predictive Relationship of Risk Factors on the Child Endangerment
Lipová, Dana ; Jeřábek, Hynek (advisor) ; Soukup, Petr (referee)
The thesis examines the relationship between factors that are considered risky in the area of social and legal protection of children, and the child endangerment, which is a legal reason for a state intervention in the family. The child endangerment was conceptualized based on the child trauma theory. Risk factors were identified by means of a comparative analysis of Czech and foreign instruments of social and legal child protection bodies. The MIMIC model was used to investigate the relationships between risk factors and the child endangerment, which enables comprehensive testing of relationships between several independent variables and one dependent latent variable, which is measured by a set of manifest variables, the model also works with mutual relationships between independent variables. The testing of the model proved that risk factors have a very different degree of influence on the child endangerment, and that it is important to take into account not only their direct influence, but also those mediated through other factors. The model proved that several factors have no influence on the child endangerment. It also follows from the model that it is sufficient to work only with a limited set of key factors when evaluating the child's situation.
Etical aspects of judicial supervision as a reason for child's removal from his family
KOPECKÁ, Markéta
The thesis deals with the issue of supervision over the upbringing of minors within the framework of social-legal protection of children. It is divided into three parts. The first part is legal, it deals with the description of the issue and explanation of the current system and the space that is defined for individual evaluation of situations and decision-making of social workers. The second part looks at selected ethical theories, each with a different perception of the good to be sought. They also offer different perspectives on the issue. The third part of the thesis asks specific questions that arose in the first part of the thesis and seeks answers through the lens of each of the theories described in the second part. On the basis of the clash between these two levels and the clash between rationality and emotions, different lines of opinion and insights emerge, which can open a discussion on topics that are not common in the Czech legal environment. The current system does not adapt in the field of supervision and the starting points that ethics offers bring new possibilities for solutions.
Pěstounská péče prarodičů z pohledu zaměstnanců orgánu sociálně-právní ochrany dětí
VLČKOVÁ, Dominika
The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of foster care performed by grandparents. Foster care is a form of substitute family care in which the foster parent personally takes care of the child and is responsible for his / her upbringing. An individual, spouse or partner who meets the conditions stipulated by law can become a foster parent. They are often the child's grandparents. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to map the opinions of employees of the social and legal protection of children on foster care of grandparents with a focus on the benefits and risks of this foster care. Qualitative research, the method of questioning and the technique of semi-structured interview have been used to achieve the set goal. Interviews were conducted with substitute family care staff at the Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children at municipal authorities, the regional authority in the selected region and the municipality of the selected city. The obtained data have been processed by the method of clustering. The results have shown that, despite the disadvantages of grandparents' foster care, surrogate family care workers have a positive subjective feeling about this form of care. The great advantage, compared to the mediated foster parent, is the family and emotional bond between the grandparent and the child. The child usually knows the grandparent from an early age and is used to the environment where the grandparent lives. This bachelor thesis can be beneficial for social workers working with the family, because it also points to the negative aspects that grandparents' foster care brings. At the same time, it highlights the benefits of this type of foster care.

In the practical part, the results of my research were clearly processed, and the research question was answered, which was focused on the view of the workers of children's homes and children's homes with a school and host care. Partial research questions found out what positives and what negatives host care can have for children with compulsory institutional education. A qualitative research strategy was chosen for the research of this thesis and questioning with the technique of semi-structured interview was chosen as the method. The data analysis was performed by the clustering method. Subsequently, two other methods were used; the method of simple enumeration and the method of contrasts and comparisons. The research files were selected by deliberate selection. The research group consisted of 5 principals, 3 social workers and 5 educators of children's homes and children's homes with a school meeting the selection criteria. My research shows that the experience of host care is for all workers positive, even though everyone is aware of certain risks that host care entails. However, they agreed that the positives of host care prevailed. The main benefit of host care, as can be deduced from my research, is the possibility for the child to see and experience the functioning of a normal family within host care. The main risk of host care may include disproportionate attachment of the child to the host provider or vice versa and the associated disappointment of the child or host providers. The results of my research will serve as acknowledgment to all employees of institutional facilities who participated in my research, and the brochure created, will also serve to increase the awareness of people who are interested in this issue.
